Hi. I’m Ellen. I’ve worked with older adults and their families for over a decade, and I know that supporting aging parents can leave you feeling worried, frustrated and alone.
If you're here, chances are you're starting to see signs that your parents might need more help—maybe they've had a fall, a recent hospitalization, forgotten an important medication, or are struggling to keep up with household tasks. Or perhaps your parent has needed help for a while and it’s starting to become overwhelming.
You might feel a mix of emotions: concern, frustration, sadness, and even guilt. You’re not alone. This is a difficult moment for so many families, and it’s okay to not have all the answers.
Common Questions:
How do I know if my parent needs more care or if they can continue living independently?
What should I do when I see my parent struggling? When should I step in?
What should I do if my parent doesn’t want help, but I’m worried about their safety?
How do I balance my own life, work, and family while supporting my aging parent?
What are the different care options, and how do I figure out which is best?
How do I figure out my role now that my parent, who has always been in charge, needs more help? What’s appropriate, and how much should I take over?
These are big, complex questions, and you shouldn’t have to navigate them alone.
I’m here to help you find clarity and confidence. With years of experience guiding families through these tough transitions, I offer resources, support, and practical advice to help you feel prepared and informed. Let’s tackle these challenges together, so you can navigate this chapter with confidence and peace of mind.

About Me
I’ve worked as a physical therapist in the the homes of older adults for a decade. I've helped thousands of families navigate the practical and emotional challenges of aging and illness. While working closely in my patient’s homes I’ve had the opportunity to see the many ways different families handle this stage of life, as well as seeing the stress most family members experience when they’re suddenly thrown into the driver’s seat without any training or preparation. After seeing so many families struggle with the same concerns I decided to start offering support and resources to help family members work through the tough questions.
