It Started In Hundreds of Living Rooms
I’ve spent the last decade walking into people’s homes, helping older adults regain their strength or adjust to a new normal after illness or injury - and watching their families quietly panic in the background while trying to hold it all together.
Every week, I've sat at kitchen tables and stood on porches, helping families figure out what to do next for their parents, and I realized how little support there was for the adult children trying to navigate it all.
Age Old Questions was born out of those moments, to help you feel informed, supported, and just a little less alone.
Visiting patients, recording podcasts, walking in the woods, and eating tacos by the water.
Honest conversations, small steps, another cup of tea, and the power of laughter during hard seasons.
I’ve worked with hundreds of families as they faced one of life’s hardest transitions: realizing their parents are getting older, need more help, and won't ever get back to "normal". I’ve learned there’s no right or easy way to handle it. There’s just your way, your family, and what works for your situation. My mission is to help you find that — and feel more confident doing it.
My superpower is helping people navigate the hard parts of supporting aging parents with more grace, less guilt, and a lot more clarity.
I’m Ellen — a physical therapist, podcast host, and guide for people figuring out how to support their aging parents. After ten years in home health, I’ve seen how overwhelming this season can be. Families are suddenly faced with decisions about safety, care, and independence — without a roadmap. I’ve seen firsthand how families struggle to navigate medical systems, safety concerns, and tough decisions, all while juggling their own lives.
Through Age Old Questions, I share what I’ve learned — the practical steps, the honest conversations, and the emotional truths that make this season so hard and so meaningful. Whether you’re just starting to notice your parents need more help or you’re deep in decision-making mode, you’re not alone.
